Disability Discrimination Act
If you are a provider of technical goods, facilities or services you have duties under the DDA, which makes it unlawful to discriminate against members of the public on the grounds of disability. Designers, developers and contractors of new premises and the owner/mangers of existing buildings should be aware that there are statutory controls in place to ensure that they do not discriminate against people with disabilities using those premises. Under the 1995 Act, alterations may be required to existing premises as well as new.
